Colonel Michael T. Compardo

Colonel Michael Compardo is the Commander, 126th Medical Group, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. As commander, he plans, implements, and directs the overall management of health service administrative activities to ensure mission accomplishment. He serves as the chief advisor to line commanders for medical issues, providing the 126th Air Refueling Wing with a medically qualified global force. Colonel Compardo is also responsible for planning and training for disaster preparedness in domestic operations, and for providing deployment ready medical personnel in support of any Air Force contingency operation.

Colonel Compardo first enlisted in 2000 as a Specialist in the 153rd Field Artillery Brigade, Arizona Army National Guard, Phoenix, Arizona. In 2002, Colonel Compardo transferred to the 126th Mission Support Group as an Information Manager. In 2006, he was commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant, Medical Service Corps Officer, with the 126th Medical Group. Colonel Compardo has filled various positions including deputy commander, resource advisor, fitness monitor, wing inspection team member, and medical readiness officer. Colonel Compardo deployed to Chicago-land to support the Illinois Emergency Management Agency’s response to the Corona Virus Disease-19 pandemic where he served on the executive team of the 3,000 bed alternate care site at McCormick Place.

In his civilian career, Colonel Compardo worked as both a director for medical group practice operations and supply chain at Barnes Jewish/Christian Healthcare, one of the largest nonprofit integrated healthcare delivery systems in the country. He’s also served as the acute dialysis hospital services director for DaVita Kidney Care, covering thirty-five hospitals across Missouri and Illinois. In August 2020, he assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at Boone Center Inc, a nonprofit providing employment opportunities to people with disabilities in St. Peters, Missouri. Additionally, he holds an active license as a certified public accountant in Missouri where he owns a tax compliance service. Prior to assuming his current position, the Lt Col was the Chief Administrator, 126th Medical Group, Scott AFB, Illinois.
