On Nov. 5, 2011, Col. Jeffrey W. Jacobson, in front of a standing room only crowd in Heritage Hall on the 126th Air Refueling Wing campus, accepted a guideon and subsequent command of the 126th Operations Group from Col. Peter Nezamis, Commander, 126th Air Refueling Wing.

After accepting command, Jacobson addressed the crowd filled with family, friends, peers, and subordinates. He noted the challenges and opportunities intertwined with his new position and vowed commitment to the Wing. "This is a special day for me and my family," said Jacobson. "I'm honored to be leading the 126th Operations Group and the 126th Air Refueling Wing and its associate partners on to bigger and better things."

Jacobson replaced Col. David Reynolds, the former 126th Operations Group Commander, as Reynolds transitioned to the 126th Vice Commander position. Reynolds brings nearly 30 years of experience to his new position and is confident about the 126th's future. "The 126th Air Refueling Wing has always excelled at every mission or task," said Reynolds. "I know this team of professionals will maintain its standard of excellence, which will keep the 126th a viable part of the National Guard and Air Force for many years to come."
