906th Air Refueling Squadron Updated Patch The newest rendition of the 906th Air Refueling Squadron emblem was approved by the Air Force Historical Research Agency on Oct. 27, 2011. This is the only change to the squadron patch since its initial approval on July 10, 1961. The emblem description and significance statements are as follows: BLAZON On a disc per bend Azure and Celeste, a globe Argent displaying the continents of North and South America of the second superimposed by a silhouette of a stylized aircraft nose to base Blue and between two olive branches Or, all within a narrow border Blue. Attached above the disk, a White scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "GLOBAL REFUELING" in Blue letters. Attached below the disk, a White scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "906TH AIR REFUELING SQ" in Blue letters. SIGNIFICANCE Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The globe with the stylized aircraft represents the unit's ability and requirement to provide air refueling anytime, anyplace, under any conditions twenty-four hours day or night. The olive branches symbolize the unit's contribution to the Air Force mission of maintaining peace.
